Sigma Seven

Archaeology now. Back in 1996 I had a design studio with my friend David Oppenheim. This was our digital press kit – on a floppy disk. We worked together for 2 1/2 years. We did websites for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and many other musicians. We were sponsored by Silicon Graphics and did crazy things like…animated GIFs. I branched out and started directing television commercials for the likes of Reebok and NYNEX. Our design sensibilities were very influenced by the likes of David Carson and Tomato. The company who represented us back then – Curious Pictures – had me step in to direct the spot for Reebok when Tomato was booked. It was a blast. My first live action spot – for NYNEX – was me asking my producer how to get the cameras rolling. Roll camera she said. I obliged. Now I have this floppy disk and invitation to a meet-and-greet as memories. It was a wonderful time. Very grateful.
