CASE STUDY

Pens & Brushes: Fine tipped Japanese pens, watercolor and patience

Paper and pen and brushes. The quiet that it requires. Sometimes with an idea in mind, sometimes simply to see what happens. When I do have an idea in mind. I spin it around in my head to see it from many angles. Sometimes I take a walk with it before I commit to paper. Sometimes it’s a squiggle or a color that sets me off.

I’ve come to think of drawing as a way of making sense of the world. A means of thinking through my hands, of discovering something I didn’t quite know before I began.

These are some of those explorations.
